Summer is approaching fast and there are only two weeks left to register for the Summer Data4Justice Accelerator!
Given the sharp rise in Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations across the country, all of our guided and personal research assignments will be focused specifically on analyzing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity and detention data.
This year’s Data4Justice Accelerator will run from June 15th to July 26th. Participants will learn how to:
- find and collect data using APIs and data scraping;
- clean and organize data using RStudio & R;
- use data science methodologies to uncover meaningful insights and relationships in your data;
- build data stories and effective visualizations to showcase results and inform policy and sway public opinion; and,
- turn qualitative into quantitative data using Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Each participant will complete a guided research project on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and develop a strong plan for future research on immigration policy, reform, and justice. No prior technical experience required!
