QSIDE Institute is proud to present – in partnership with The Health Alliance for Violence Intervention (the HAVI) – a new report investigating the relationship between media and gun violence. Our literature review reveals the disproportionate amount of media and research focusing on mass shootings, in contrast to the lack of coverage of gun violence in communities.
The study examined dozens of recent research publications focusing on media representations of gun violence. The report used the PRISMA literature review research protocol. More than 900 potential sources were screened, and 80 papers met the criteria for inclusion in the research study.
